Bio
Phyllis Weitl Maximilien was born in Des Moines, Iowa, USA, in 1947. She studied fine art at the University of Northern Iowa (BFA Degree) and graduate studies in art and photography at the University of Iowa. She also studied costume design at Parsons (NYC) and Fine Art at the Chicago Institute. Phyllis has lived and worked as a graphic designer in New York, Paris and Chicago. She presently resides and exhibits her work in and around Paris.
Her work varies from nearly abstract to highly realistic drawings and paintings, reflecting a keen sensitivity and harmony of colour and form.
Phyllis Weitl Maximilien est née à Des Moines dans l'Etat d'Iowa aux U.S.A. Elle a fait des études d'arts plastiques à l'Université d'Iowa du Nord (BFA) ainsi qu'à l'Université d'Iowa, et a poursuivi dans le domaine du costume à la Parsons School of Design de New York et au Chicago Art Institute. Phyllis a vécu à Chicago et à New York en travaillant comme dessinatrice graphique. Elle réside actuellement dans la région parisienne où elle expose ses œuvres.
Son travail couvre une large gamme de styles allant du presque abstrait jusq'au très figuratif, s'appuyant sur une sensibilité à l'harmonie des couleurs et des formes.
